The pissing dog and more

Met with Niki today at Form to review "Phase 1" of my training plan. As I mentioned previously, he wants me to focus on core strength to ensure that I can still hold up my upper body by the time I get on the bike Huså--that sounds like a good plan to me. So today we spent an hour reviewing exercises like "Draken" (the Dragon), "Rysk twist" (the Russian Twist), "Sågen" (the Saw), "Stolen" (the Chair) and "Kissande hunden" (the Pissing Dog). Great names! Exercises with names like these fit right in when you live in a town called Knife Town.

But seriously, the workout was really great and the goal is that it should be achievable in 45 minutes, which is a reasonable amount of time to dedicate a few times a week.

After Form, David and I met up for a lunchtime run in Uppsala which led to us identifying a new threat to our success--articulating buses. We've now agreed that it's important to follow Swedish pedestrian laws when one of those is proceeding through an intersection that we want to cross.
