It's just a matter of hours now until we'll be sat on that start line in the middle of Åresjön bobbing up and down in the kayak awaiting the gun to start the race. It's been a tough few days of NOT training. It's actually rather weird not to be getting up at 05:30 to get to Form for a morning workout or to get out in the wonderful weather for a long bike ride or run. Kind of feels like we're doing something wrong...BUT we're following Niki's advice to the letter, "Eat, drink, sleep and let the body do its work in the background". We managed a 5km walk today though in Uppsala (under advice) in the great sunshine giving us plenty of time to discuss transitions, what should we pack in those boxes, how much water to carry, where to put the sport drink, how many gels to take, spare clothes in case of bad /good weather etc. The pack list is done, the plan is made, now for 2 more sleeps until packing up the car with gear, loading the back with bikes and the roof with kayaks and starting the 611km drive north!
